I have never found magicians interesting.

The illusions aren’t appealing to me. And the hype seems empty. My curiosity isn’t stirred to learn how it’s done. I think because I know that it’s not real. So there must be some explanation for it. And if I knew that explanation I would realize it was slight of hand and misdirection. Which is clever for sure. But not fulfilling to me.

I feel a little guilty admitting it. Because what kind of person doesn’t like a good magic trick? I should clarify that I’m not against magic. I’m just not into it. Perhaps a better term might be magic indifferent.

Now my kids like a good magic trick. And hazard a go at their own on occasion. They’re always so impressed. Which is a magic I very much do believe in.
