silhouette-891691_1280You’ve plenty of time to choose to live

Whatever way seems right to you.

If I could give you a suggestion I’d likely say

You should be the person people will miss.

I don’t know what that looks like for you.

Perhaps you don’t either.

I’ve gathered through mistakes and arrogance

A few pointers you might consider.

Everyone enjoys being called by name.

Everyone needs someone to listen to their story

And care enough to hear what’s being said.

We all like to be remembered by those we weren’t expecting to remember us.

Most of us know when we’ve messed up.

Tell us you still love us even though.

Choose your words carefully

As you never know when your “joke” will be someone’s reality.

You’ll often have reason not to give your best

Especially when they won’t know the difference.

They always know though,

It just takes time.

So give your best to every person

Because someday you’ll be gone.

The world will do what the world does.

Mourning doesn’t last long.

If you become the person they will miss

you haven’t won anything, really.

The prize belongs to those who remain.

This is one way to live longer than your years.

Be the person people will miss.

If you’re open to suggestions, that is.
