There is a chance that you are nothing special, just one in several billion currently occupying our planet. Many have come before. Others will follow. You will put in your days and then it will be someone else’s turn. You will make a good showing though some days will try to convince you they were a loser.
Or you might be something. You might not be random. You might not be here by chance or cosmic luck.
The thing is you don’t know. Neither do I. Or anyone else. There are several camps with staunch supporters on all sides. The most honest of whom would admit they aren’t totally certain. They are my favorite. They have an opinion formed by thoughtful consideration yet they don’t carry it like a 9 lb hammer.
Nothing or something.
I kind of get the “nothing” camp. It just doesn’t appeal to me though. Wouldn’t you prefer to be “something?” Even if it’s not certain? If there’s a chance that you just might matter, wouldn’t you want to see that through?
