And be a friend to strangers.

I don’t think that’s asking too much.

I want everyone to get along.

And be free to be free.

I want us to divert our gaze from ourselves.

And see the others as equals.

I don’t think that’s asking too much.

I want every hand put to work for the good.

And every mouth singing its anthem.

I don’t think that’s asking too much.

I want to live in a world of ideals.

And believe it could someday be.

I don’t think that’s asking too much.

I really don’t.
